Life in B-school

Although I still have no idea about the real life in B-school, I know that many people go to B-school just for one thing: be able to find a good job after their graduation. Some students may want to switch career, some may want to stay in the U.S, and some may hope to broaden the interpersonal network for a better job hunting. Many b-schools are also putting lots of efforts on preparing or even pressuring the students in job searching, because job placement is an important factor for the school's ranking.

There is nothing wrong with that. The most immediate problem for everyone in the world is the sourse of money.

Some folks went to top b-school, but soon found that they were saddled with overwhelming amount of debt thanks to the expensive tuitions. They have no choice: they have to find a high-paying job in IB or Consulting, no matter whether they like such jobs or whether there are good fits. More doors are closed than opened.

Some folks went to b-school, well-known or not, with scholarships and grants. Or maybe they are sponsored by former employers. Or maybe they have saved enough. They don’t have to rush. They have the leisure to take time to study, to think, to ponder the future, to search for their true passion, and to plan for their next actions, big or small. These are the luck few. Their somewhat different MBA or other B-school experience may prove to be equally, if not more, valuable to their eventual success in career and life.

Maybe it is childish to say that I do want to learn something from the master degree pursuing. for job hunting and my own interest influenced by my parents. Career and occupation are not all the life. Besides them, one still needs some own time to enjoy what he/she really wants. Life is too short to enjoy and time always passes at the extreme high speed. I want to catch up with this era when I am young. From August, my life will change.
